Skip to the beginning: Get lost in Spaced

Not long ago in a galaxy far, far away… Well, set in a flat in North London back in 1999, Simon Pegg teamed up with Edgar Wright, Jessica Hynes (nee Stevenson) and Nick Frost to satisfy a legion of cult film and television audiences with a meta-laced surreal sitcom which also cemented his status as a comic book, Sci-Fi, zombie-loving graphic artist nerd in the nicest possible way. And, of course, the ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ soon followed with Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007) and The World’s End (2013); each offering a similar tone of homage from Spaced.

Pegg’s comedy genius indubitably attracted the attention from Hollywood which resulted in landing supporting blockbuster roles opposite Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible III (2006) and as Scotty in Star Trek (2009), as well as their respective sequels for in the popular franchise.

With the upcoming Hector and the Search for Happiness in cinemas from 15 August 2014, we decided to go on a retrospective journey in pursuit of the top cult references of film in the wonderfully alternative world of Spaced.
